Okay, so I was wrong, So Cal is a near-apocalyptic disaster, but then again, so is Baghdad.

Wesley Clark doesn't inspire you? Draft Wesley Crusher For President.
Paul prefers Hellscream For America, though.

Molly Ivins, Hellraiser "...syndicated columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, good ol' Texas girl, witty political pundit, former co-editor of the Texas Observer... has a new book out. ' Bushwhacked: Life in George W. Bush's America ,' also written with Dubose, outlines the underreported goings-on of the Bush administration, ultimately drawing the connections between public policy and people's lives."

George [H, the Elder] Bush's comrades eaten by their Japanese PoW guards   "Lt George Bush, then a 20-year-old pilot, was among nine airmen who escaped from their planes after being shot down during bombing raids on Chichi Jima, a tiny island 700 miles south of Tokyo, in September 1944 - and was the only one to evade capture by the Japanese.
The horrific fate of the other eight "flyboys" was established in subsequent war crimes trials on the island of Guam, but details were sealed in top secret files in Washington to spare their families distress.
Mr Bradley has established that they were tortured, beaten and then executed, either by beheading with swords or by multiple stab-wounds from bayonets and sharpened bamboo stakes. Four were then butchered by the island garrison's surgeons and their livers and meat from their thighs eaten by senior Japanese officers."

Some pretty cool images fromthe LA wildfires.

The Girl With The Shoes wants you to read... M@B,
(It's a comic strip)

The Gospel of Supply Side Jesus by Al Franken and Don Simpson. Because poor people suck.

Jesus Shops for Sandals a comic strip from Buy Nothing Christmas, "a national initiative started by Canadian Mennonites but open to everyone with a thirst for change and a desire for action."

Create a TV ad that tells the truth about George W. Bush.  MoveOn.org Voter Fund's political ad contest.

What's there to say? He's a lying weasel like any other politician, and doesn't want you to jerk off.

The Axis of Hubris  by Paul Craig Roberts  "Neoconservatives used their presidential appointments and Vice President Cheney to silence the CIA and Defense and State Department intelligence services, all of which disagreed with the neoconservatives’ case for invading Iraq.
The invasion did not result from faulty US intelligence. The invasion resulted from the neoconservatives’ confidence that they alone are right."

Adbusters: Leo Strauss  Neat little introduction of father of the Neocons.

Norwegians don't 'get' Halloween "The trick and treat traditions of Halloween are steadily spreading around the world. But while neighbors Sweden enjoy the holiday, some Norwegians want it banned."

Halloween Reclamation  "While many Christians correctly see Halloween as a time of occult dangers - when Satan is out in force trying to corrupt our society - they overlook the fact that all things are created by the Lord for a purpose. So what is the purpose of this dark time of the year?"

The 100 Scariest Movie Scenes Of All Time!
#63 The Wizard Of Oz (1939) Flying Monkeys

The Top100 Mosters Of All Time!

Hand-Eye Coordination Test

"The Christian's Guide to Small Arms was developed in response to the fact that most American Christians have fallen into ignorance concerning the responsibilities and skills required of the Christian freeman."

Women in Christianity and Islam  Harlots! Read the Madonna/whore complex played from an unusual point of view.

Announcing…ZYGO™ “The Morning Vodka"

"Octomatics-project is about a new number system
which has a lot of advantages over our old decimal system."

Was the moon landing a hoax?

"Comic Works is a Manga drawing software, which was originally designed for professional Manga artists."

Which is to say, "for lazy illustrators who don't wanna learn how to make tones in Photoshop and for kids who think buying stuff will make them a better artist."  (More great basic tutorials from Wynd)
Basically Paint Shop Pro with couple of hundred tones built into it. It's about $100 ($90 at Akadot, $120 after Friday?), but for couple of you crazy enough to spend upwards of  four dollars per sheet, it'll be cheaper then buying actual screen tones. It's PC only, so someone download the demo and see if it's worth it.

Hell, you can download PS comic tone patterns from this Felaxx.com forum thread (at the end of the second post by E.J.( Protodepot.com))

Spring Sleep Neat little manga short that won the contest held by Deleter, the maker of the software and al lthe other "how to draw manga" crap flooding stateside. A good demonstration of what can be done with, not the prog, but a few simple solid gray tones and some good old fashioned elbow grease.

End of the World Silly funny Flash short (sound) about the inevitable.
