Yo. Thanks for stopping by.

This is "Kung Fool!" version 4.0, a full color, anime-ish, behind the scenes look at the making of a cheesy TV show "Kung Fool," featuring a fangirl, an HK stuntman, a pansy, and an... an angry kung fu chick (drawn by an art school grad in massive debt).

The comic starts on August.

(I'm currently busy moving to a new apartment and having trouble getting Keenspace to display the Flash .SwF files correctly.)

But since a bunch of people will come from Megatokyo from the guest strip, here is all 27 pages, one page a day, of my previous webcomic: "Kung Fool!" version 3.0

It's just Tsai Lu (the guy) and Mei (the gal). And there is no story to speak of.

I had intended it to be a weekly, like Tang or Wendy, but stopped at #9 when I became more interested in Photoshop effects then the comic. These days, when I'm mostly on Flash, I hardly even use PS anymore... Well, enjoy the comic and please come back for the "real" show.

btw, the domain name should be pronounced, "Kung Fool, EEEEECCKKSSSSSS!!!! dot com."

7-16-01
Christ, those comics were wordy....

Don't worry #3-9 contain hardly any dialogue.

I fact, #9 is eight pages and there's only about 6 lines. And one particular word is repeated 90~100 times.

Mei's bit of a bitch, but somebody has to one, right? The blue-haired chick, Mi Sung, is a lot conventionally nicer...

7-19-01
According to the tracker, there's about 100 or so of you's showing up daily. That's pretty damn good for a comic that hasn't even technically started, so I thank you all heartily and I hope to put up more quality junk for months to come.

Forum's up. And I even forked over the $15 bucks for pop-up ad removal. Why? Because I CARE. That's right, in ALL CAP'S. Love, in any form, no matter how perverse, twisted, bestial, despicable or depraved, is a beautiful thing...

I share the boards with Shelly, a lovely young lady, who is responsible for all the other extraneous boards at the forum and runs her own webcomic, Chopsticks Zero, Poor girl, I caught her in an act of utter desperation the other day. We all can feel her pain, her inner torment that drove her to such folly.

Please go read her comic, Chopsticks Zero, its very new and there's only three pages, so you won't be bogged down by a massive archive. So read it and mail her how much you loved the comic, and by extension, her. For they are lovable three pages, lovable as any I've ever seen. I swear by all that lives, good Karma will be bestowed on any and all who embark upon this pilgrimage. I swear on all your mothers' lives! Yes, she is young, yes, she is new to the craft, but I sense excellent potential for growth and the future's so bright, she's got-ta wear shades...

Afterwards, post something on the forum. Say something nice, say something not so nice. Why, 'cause I plan on growing, that's why. This site's gonna be huge, man. Huge like my old roommate's bong and that sucker was a monster! Better get in on the ground floor. Better get it while getting's good. I'm all out of clichés, so I'll stop.

7-21-01
Hey, kids! Did I mention that you Don't need to register to post on the forum? You don't!

Actually, I shouldn't be surprised, I personally don't post much. About the only forum I spend a good deal of time is on the Maya Forums at Highend3D, and that's work related...

7-23-01
Tsai Lu is featured in this week's Sunday Morning Coffee. I'll be drawing the next week's strip. Tang is the MAN, da Bomb, and All That!

7-26-01
Something wrong with Keenspot. The system won't allow updates. And so it goes.

7-29-01
I drew this 1/2 of this week's Tang's Weekly Comic. So there.

In 1998, I worked on this comic called Gun Team (the penciler/ inker). It never went anywhere, but I got an offer over the weekend from the writer/ creator to finish it. He found someone willing to publish it, Committed Comics.

Only thing is, they are more of a creator's co-op. Meaning that I'd get paid only after the book shows any profit. So with the current state of the market, this totally unknown manga-ish comic would earn me... squat.

Since the whole point of working for other people is a steady paycheck, the question is: Why should I wasted any more time on someone else's shit when I'm busy with my own? Especially since both will make $0.00.

I personally think the print market for anything other then the superhero B.S. is dead and the future of comics, as a personal form of expression, will be the web. Whether anybody can make a living off it is the only real question left.

Am I being too bullish? Should I just finish the damn thing? It wouldn't kill me... Anybody still go into comic book stores anymore? ('cause I don't.)

So in the sprit of open communication and cooperation the Internet ought to be, I'll let your responses determine my choice of action: Respond.

7-30-01
The comic starts on Monday, August 13, 2001 C.E.

#9 is eight pages long. Art gets more interesting, the dialogue does not.

#10 (a five page final) is so Tang-ish, he should really sue. Of course the angry chick is one of the more over used gags of all time... Timeless, really.

8-8-01
Keenspace server was down again. They're installing a new server farm, so expect frequent trouble for all keenspace comics for a month or two. After which, the service should be al lot better. So let us all chill and relax in these final moments of Summer...

You know it's reaching 105 degrees (F) where I live? It gets hot in L.A...

8-12-01
Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!
Tommorow! Tommorrow!
Ahhh! Ahh! Ahhh!

8-13-01
Ahhhh! Ahhhh! Ahhhh!
Today! Today! Today! Today!
Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!

8-14-01
Much thanks for Josh for linking to me today. "Frighteningly excellent," he said. Cripes, how the hell am I going to live up to that!

A brand new start!

This is Kung Fool! version 4. Today is sketch day. Yesterday was the first comic. The other stuff is v. 3 of the comic. I've been posting them as filler. I'll move them away to the archives at the end of the week.

I posted all 105 pages of the original TV animation storyboard that is Kung Fool! v.1.
If you've got the time, check it out at the ARCHIVES!

8-15-01
What? Cold in LA? Now?
Today's strip was written in January (remember January?), when it was indeed unseasonably cold. This Summer's one of the hottest on record, so that means... the joke tanked!
Argh... I swear, the comic picks up around #6 or #7.

Much thanks to Josh at Avalon again. Yesterday the stats showed a whopping 992 unique visitors! About as large a crowd since the Megatokyo guest strip a month ago. Since none of these tracker things are very accurate, I shall round off the last 8 and declare it a thousand.

Now I shall have the pleasure of seeing the stats dwindle, dwindle, and dwindle down again. It's a pretty sad sight. To plateau out from a peak so high... No! Don't go! Stay! I promise you LOVE! Do you hear me? LOOOOOVE!

*sniff* *sniff*

Pansy.

8-16-01
You came back! You do love me!
My life does have meaning! I have friends, real fiends.
There will be joy!
Then I can snub Ghastly all I want!

The girl's name's Mi Sung, the blue hair behind the iMac from #001. She's the roommate. She and Cavin, who'll debut in #010, is all that's left from an older project, "Otaku no Assassin." It was about a hit man who moves in next door to bunch of Anime freaks and becomes slowly absorbed into their culture.
It also had really cool gun fight scenes.

I think the above sketch (002) is probably the best pic of Mi Sung I've drawn so far. Hm... Maybe I should sell it. The sketches were designed to be sold off... Maybe later.

8-17-01
Okay, I've heard from a lot of people about the hands, or the lack there of. What can I say? They're round, stuck at the end of her hand, with a thumb like thing. It's a hand! Live with it! I was feeling... nonchalant at the time. You're lucky I wasn't feeling serendipitous, or you'd have gotten something far more worse.

No news post this weekend. Moving. It will also reach 105F tomorrow where I live. Muy Caliente!

8-20-01
Welcome to another in an endless series of Mondays, hope you have fun.... lot of fun, fun, FUN, FUN!! FUN!!!

I was reading the old news posts and it occurs to me, I should stop writing these things at four in the morning. Jesus Christ on a stick! I sound like a little school girl meeting the Backstreet Boys. It's pretty bad. Note to myself: Must sound more butch!

Okay, you maggots, go see a real little school girl, Joycelyn, at her comic, The New Adventures of Bobbin! It's better then pubic lice. Yes, that's her tag line, I didn't write that.
Did I mention she was Asian? She's cute, under-aged and swears, so go check it out you pervs. If you make her site popular, maybe she'll start taking her clothes off in a year, when she's legal. So you guys and two girls have a year to badger her to turn tricks on the net. Technology is wonderful!

I be putting up the rest of this site this week, there should be plenty of stuff to see. I'll be moving the Kung Fool v.1 archives as well. Free websites... feh!

One more thing, I was checking this site on a PC and the font was huge. I'm on a Mac and websites designed on Macs tend to produce larger default font sizes when seen on PCs (a.k.a. everybody). It's a bit annoying on 800x600 monitors, but seems okay on larger resolution. Haven't had any complaints so far...

"THE TWIST" by Chubby Checker

We're gonna twisty twisty twisty
'Til we turn the house down
Come on and twist yeah baby twist
Oooh-yeah just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist

Yeah you should see my little Sis

She really knows how to rock
She knows how to twist
Come on and twist yeah baby twist
Oooh-yeah just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist
Yeah rock on now
Yeah twist on now
Twist

8-22-01
Keenspace went... nah, forget it.

I really like #005. It's the first one that fits. All the parts, the linework, the colors, and setup, all congeal together well. The previous ones... yuck. I really should drawn those over again.

Well I can promise they'll be better from now on!
Or not. Better make that maybe.
Okay, lets say this, if I keep on this level, bringing you quality strips week in week out, enough of you better fork over the cash when I start hawking various do-dad and do-hickies at ya'll.

Damn it, maybe I should have started by posting pr0n first...

8-23-01
"Electric Bogaloo"!??

Can I get any more obscure? Wait til Saturday...

8-24-01
See! Can't you feel it? The story, it,... it... it's beginning! Don't you see? It's beautiful... it's over due... it's... here. I'm going to wet my self...

Go, you maggots, and read Heroes! Danny was kind enough to write to me and sympathize with my mitten hands from #003. See, another brave art pioneer who is not afraid, who does not cower in the brutal face of "convention." He is, indeed, a Hero!

8-25-01
Sing it with me everyone:

That's my prerogative
(It's my prerogative)
It's my prerogative
It's the way that I wanna live
(It's my prerogative)
I can do just what I feel
(It's my prerogative) ...

For those too young or don't care, Bobby Brown's the guy married to Whitney Houston. He use to be a singer in the 80's, but now beats up photographers and occasionally his wife.

8-27-01
G'day, people. Keenspace was out most of the weekend, but you all have better, more healthier things to do on a weekend then sitting on your butts staring at the monitor...

*sniff*
"Cause that's what I did this weekend. Boo-hoo. Hyung have no fun... Just work... Somebody shoot me and end the PAIN!!

Some people wanted wallpapers of the Sunday pic, "Ask and Yea shall receive..." (Now don't you go peeking on the other stuff until I get the Gallery section written up... Nah, don't bother, that is THE gallery...)

8-28-01 See, people, you're getting more then just vaguely budding plot, some weak punchline and above average art, you're getting DRAMA! The ANGST! Deep evolving characters! It's covered, 'kay? The shit's tight!

I also realize most people who even bothers to read the news don't understand any of this. It's okay, I don't either. Just assume I'm coming down from a bad acid trip or some other controlled substance.

Remember kids, winners don't do drugs.

8-29-01 Blah, blah, blah....

I don't know how you guys can stand to write those long long columns of text. I mean, who cares, right?

Perhaps I should start espousing my political views... You know, fuck the IMF, WTO, GATT, and other such evil acronyms. To hell with Bush Jr. and here's to another (and hopefully fatal) heart attack, Dick Cheney. Your daughters will mourn for you, but I won't. Up with the revolution! Down with whoever's in charge! Democracy Now!

Maybe my private life? How I need to return Kristy's call, but it's been more then two weeks and I don't feel like apologizing for not returning phone calls again. Hell, I missed Ian's big Desert Jam, but I was moving cardboard boxes during last weekend so at least there's a legitimate excuse for that one. But life's not that exciting. It's mostly working, returning emails, sitting in front of the computer wrenching my brains trying make money, the blurry astigmatism of my dry, irritated left eye, painfully rubbed raw during another all nighter...

Kama- kama- kama- kama- kama- Chameleon!
You come and go...

Go read Heroes! again, it's funny and I like it. Look ma' no hands! There's a great KareKano reference. I'm still working on the CAST, STORY, and STUFF sections. You already know what's in the Gallery, if you know where to look. Oh, yeah, don't forget The New Adventures of Bobbin! It's acerbic.

8-31-01 And yes, that is a Glock. Not only a favorite sidearm among the police, but also one of the easiest guns to draw in the world!

Much thanks to Nick Yu, of Bad Boys of Computer Science and Blades of Destiny, for some linkage action. Now, if only he would have used the larger banner from the LINK section:

Am I a total prick or what? A guy like Nick links to me and I bitch about the link button, I am such an asshole! A douche! A nimrod! A complete kneebiter!

Speaking of Nick, he can be seen guest staring in Squadron 509, laying down some of that funky beat on a new generation:

8-30-01 About today's sketch, #008, I was looking at it today and I thought, "Damn, that's a bit mean, but funny!" Probably the best joke I've written so far.

Now lest you think I'm just a small fish taking pot shots at one of the big guys, one, you're right. Two, I really enjoy Megatokyo, I like it this much. So if you're upset or something, unless you've done a three part colored, well drawn, funny guest strip, tape it shut!

Check out After the Rain. It's a great personal site, lot's neat info and junk.

What sounds like a bell and smells?

Dung.....

Thank you, thank you....

9-2-01 Okay, fine! It's an ad. So, what? It's big and it's got colors and junk, so sue me. Or rather, bite me!
(btw, the above image is 18kb, you gotta love that. Ya' jus gotta.)

Now to some bid'ness, this punk, Ian Hetu's been dissin' da K-dogg on his sorry ass web site. 'Kay, his site, Amphetamine, be phat and all, but ain't no crank shootin' Meth head, speed takin' mofo gonna mess with da K-dogg, ya' know? I ain't down with that shit. Nah, man, da K-dogg's got a rep to protect. My homies got my back!

I ought'ta bust a cap on this fool, chop his sorry ass up and feed him to Ghastly. That fucker'll eat anything! One time I found him wrestling Chewy, this fucked-up doberman, for a pig rib for hours 'til the bitch got too tired! That nigga crazy! So you'd best watch yo' self. Stay outta the dark, punk!

And when I see yo' bitch, I'm gonna smack that ho' back last Tuesday. My pimp hands tight, nigga' tight!

Yeah, you best be sad, ho. Yo man's toast, he gonna be smoked!

And yo' email link's busted, fool. Better get that shit fixed befor the pigs bust yo sorry ass. The Man be lookin' for any excuse to bring a brotha' down!

Props to my homie at accountin', H-Dog.
R.I.P. CPA-ONE. Word.

9-3-01 As you can tell by KF #010, the web browser is just not ready for full screen animation. Maybe in couple of years, but 'til then stick with the DVDs or them semi- legal Divx stuff. Takes too damn long to animate anything good, anyway.

Sketch of Love is back. Hint. Hint. And another hint.

Shari's revamped the story completely and inked it to boot! (Inks of Love?) It'll have the same doomed romantic nihilistic mood, but with action! Well, it'll have more plot driven scenes. How do I know this? I'm editing her scripts for grammar 'n other English thinga-ma-gigs. 'Cause, like, proper grammar's, like, soooo important, ya' know?

Did I mention It has vampires? She's starting a page a day, but there's an archive of 150+ pages, so there's lots of stuff to scrounge through.

So go! Get!

Oh yeah, that punk has a reply for da K-dogg on his nappy ass site. Punk.

9-4-01 I've learned something today, give the people what they want. Sometimes there is a very thin line between catering to creative needs and pandering to base desires. Let's see how I good I am at walking the tight rope.

My peeps, to all the playa's, ho's, and pimps, increase the peace. Amphetamine? Amateurs...

9-5-01

9-6-01 Very sketchy cheese today, but what do you want, it's sketch day.

Did a very geeky thing today and watched the original Gundam (1979) they're showing on the Cartoon Network. Oh god. The animation is breath takingly bad. It's like that Stardust Memory 0083 thing done as a webcomic. A Keenspace webcomic. That Amuro's one ugly fucker. Wow. Still better Wing, though. =p

9-7-01 Nothing much. Keenspace was down a bit. No biggie.

I'm gonna try to get the story a bit tighter. Punch it up a bit and make it less like "Mary Worth." Hopefully funnier.

Go visit my FORUM and give Ghastly and me some company, we're gettin' lonely.

9-8-01 It Sata-day, why you mak'a me wok so ha-d. Me wok'a vely ha-d, OK. Me draw pety pety boy. Me want pety gal to look at comic. Pety gal an' homos. Any is good, pety gal betta'

9-9-01 Hello people, I've recovered my sense of grammar today, everything's a-okay. It vely good.

Tang, as you all know is Da' Man. Today's is an old pic, but most of ya'll haven't seen it, at least not in the original ,SwF vector file format.
My favorite Tang's Weekly strip. =P

J. Grant, A.K.A. the Sid Vicious of webcomics has seen fit to link to me. I thank His Grace and hope my meager efforts do not displease Him, lest I face his formidable Wrath. All praise to He that lives beneath. All praise to the Dark Lord!

My fav. FLEM strip. I'd warn you or something, but that would ruin the fun. (Anybody here like The Cure?)

9-10-01 Anybody remember the "I 'heart' yumi" shirts Josh Lesnick used to sell? They were sweet. I suppose I'll have to draw up some designs for shirts of my own... maybe later, around Christmas...

9-11-01 A big thank you to the Penny Arcade crew for the hot sizzling linkage action.

The above banner is, of course, Mac Hall, one hell of a funky comic.

CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST,CAST!

Did I mention I finally updated the CAST page? Took me the whole weekend just for the text alone. You can blame Calvin of After the Rain for his whiny bitchin' and moanin'... And don't be surprised if the Wednesday comic shows up on Thursday, I'm pooped.

And to Ian Hetu, I ownz joo, bitch!

9-12-01

9-13-01 Having trouble getting back to work. I'll put up something tomorrow and the color comic on Saturday.

9-14-01 And so it goes.

I hope all you guys are doin' better. I would write some intensely personal stuff here, but I don' wanna. =P

Here's something nicer. It's a Korean comic strip, but all the important parts are in English. The kids ask what the Dad's doing, Dad proclaims his masterpiece, and when the Mom asks for the title, he replies,"Tree of Love." Got it via Calvin. Go see it, it'll make you feel better. (In a good way.)

Color comic tomorrow.

To all my niggaz, to all my niggaz, PEACE.

9-15-01 Yo, people.

To continue with the "America United" theme they were blaring on the telly, and because Nick Yu made the appropriate song, "I will survive" availible on his site, you may download the cover by Cake from me. I like his version better, but if you don't like Cake, you won't like this one either...

Normal schedule from now on. Whopee?

9-16-01 Sunday! Go pray or something.

I predict something will happen to someone somewhere . So have I spoken, so it must be!

9-17-01 Hiya kids, Monday's comic will be up as soon as I'm done with it. (That'll be around 6 or 7 am PST. So get some sleep.

Zzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Okay, I fell asleep! So what...

A nation, no, an entire world mourns, yet you dare complain about a piece of trivial entertainment?! Fie! Fie!

Little Gamers be L33t, or something...

9-18-01 Oky-doke. I just found out my older sister (the one with the JOB) checks out this site. Brrr... I mean, yeah, I showed it to her and all, but didn't think she'd look at it more then once, you know? Now I can't be so free with my speech, I can't be so fey anymore! Bummer...

9-19-01 Like anime tunes? I do. I mostly worship Bob Dylan and dem' word heavy folk stuff, but I do have a special spot in my heart for annoying jingles, novelty songs, and TV themes. Anybody remember Dr. Demento? I use to record his show every Sunday nights on KLSX in LA, when it still use to play classic rock instead of talk radio. A long time ago.

Anyhoo, download one of my favorite anime song. Called, "Koi Wa Love," (love is love) it's like 7 minutes long and about 8 megabyte, huge. It's more of a musical skit then a pop song, and you enjoy it better if you understand a little Japanese, but groovy just the same.

It's from a show called, "Battle Athletes," but I have never seen it. It's about a sporting event in the future or something...

BTW, the color strips, with the animations and such, take about 16 hours start to finish. It's not particularly hard, but it is time consuming, especially with just one person. Not that I'm bitching, but just know they do represent a large chunk of my life, so enjoy them all the more thus.

9-20-01 Dudes, check out, if you already didn't do so, Locke's Trepanation. It's finished. He kicks my ass soooo much, it hurts just lookin' at him.

Ironically, even though he himself does not draw funny stories, he does star in the most hilarious picture on the 'net.

And to Ian Hetu: Nigga please, you want me to hold your hand forever? Not unless your a chick, man... Freak.

9-21-01 Yawzah, yawzah, yawzah...

Zzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzz...

9-22-01 And once more with feeling:
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Zzzzzzzzzzz

I think Ian Hetu's mad at me, I can't tell if he's being sarcastic or not...

10-6-01 Zzzzzz. I was a ... The thing is... Ah, forget it.

Very annoying, I try to get everything done during the week so I can get my weekends free, but lately... (Don't you hate being stuck at work during the week end?)

The tri-weekly schedule was based on the time it took to so the first batch of comics (#002- #009), without all the frills and such. I'm still trying to reign in the newer format, so some irregularities in the updates will occur... so patience, it's only a comic. It's just my life. (boo-hoo... ^o^)

Apparently we're at war again. I was 16 during the Gulf War, before it ended in less then a month, everybody thought the war and the occupation after would last years. This one might last longer, I think. I was joking with my brother that, if it lasts, we might get drafted... But I think there's enough angry kids eager to go too.

This American life, the best radio show out there, has a particularly good and relevant episode this week, "War Stories."

On a related note, the full length article, of which the excerpt was performed in the show above, "Losing the War." This is the best writing, short of a full length book, I've ever read on the psychology of war, its effects on the people and soldiers, and in particular World War II.

I highly recommend it for all of you. They should give this article out to high school kids, it would save a lot of time wasted on bull shit text books, and bull shit history class.

And this recommendation comes from a college "edu-macated" self-professed geek who reads books like "History of Western Philosophy" for fun (that's me, btw).

Just to add an otaku touch to this, if your an EVA freak, the description of the Battle of Midway will ring some particularly familiar names...

10-8-01 Happy Columbus Day! Murders! Genocide! Heritage!

If you just came from Little Gamers, you want the previous comic.

This isn't the Monday comic, it's the Saturday sketch. I'm currently working on the Monday comic, It'll probably be done by 10pm PST... So it'll actually end up on Tuesday... Hmm...

10-9-01 Did I say the comic would be ready by now? Clearly my secretary got it wrong. I shall have her fired immediately!

10-10-01 (5:00pm PST) New f-ing poll! scroll a bit.

10-10-01 Shana shana shuba shuba doo-woop bup!

Like the strip? Vote on "Kung Fool!"'s fate!
Yeah, you heard me, it's a poll. Take the damn thing or suffer the consequences!

Forget the poll! I didn't know you had to register to vote. What total bull shit! All that just to... forget it.

As for me... blah!

10-11-01 Hey hey, we're the Monkees, we keep on Monking around. We're too busy sing-ing to keep anybody down.

If you look close at the pic above (sketch #023), you'll see she's cross eyed... oh well.

Postcards from Hell: Afghanistan. It's a war photojournalist's personal page. See the people we're currently bombing the shit out of. I thought his name for the site was a bit gaudy at first, but when you think about it, war IS the one and only true hell.

Dante's Inferno is a work of fiction. Hell is just us, human beings, killing each other, our fellow brethren...

Small Stories Online. It's good. I recommend highly. Lot's of different stories, all excellent.

10-13-01 It's 4 am, post the comic or sleep? Post or sleep? Post or sleep?!

Zzzzz....

10-14-01 Hey, hey. Back from the dead...

Was reading Nowhere Girl the other night and I realized something about my self.

I am a lesbian.

That's right, I dig girls.

Of course, I am a guy...

That shouldn't matter, should it?

....

....

Damn you! Stop oppressing me!

10-16-01 La.... la- la....

Hey, was gonna do a ton of little effects on #025, with each body part giggling back and forth, but it would have taken 'til Thursday and it's so stinking late already! I've decided to keep the tri-weekly schedule and keep the animating bits on, but with in reason. Otherwise I could end up working on one comic for a month tweaking this and that...

Stars and Stripes, Matt wants you... to read this comic!

Jitterbug. Bunch of other good stuff. You know, en-ta-tain-ment.

10-17-01 Boogie Woogie Shooie Noogie. Shazam!!

Been on an Mp3.com kick lately. Here's three of my find:

Brobdingnagian Bards, Two guys playing embarrassing Ren- faire music.

Yuko Ohigashi, some teenage J-chick playing X-mas tunes on the piano.

Sue Keller, one bad ass mama, playing some mean ol' blues. She rocks.

10-26-01 First of all, before anything, I would like to declare my love for each and every one of you, all of you. I love you. Profoundly, completely, in total, and unconditionally... baby!

*Kiss*

Off Beat, it's a... a... comic!

I think she's pretty hot... she's an artist to boot! Think she's in to Asian guys?

10-29-01 Yabba Dabba... ah, forget it.

DR, Demento, a radio show that's been playing novelty songs for... about 900 years. It's on the net now. Hear the Halloween episode! (streaming audio) Or download the shows in the mp3 archive.

10-30-01 Flat broke and busted...! (Actually I am. Hmm....) Shari wanted to see more of Queer Boy, so... there you go.

Duncan's Kingdom, form that Small Stories guy. Neat!

Now to some serious business:

I, Hyung Sun Kim, in sound mind and body, of my own volition and under no coercion or duress, do declare, without any doubt or hesitation, Joycelyn Yik to be the hottest bitch... no, I mean, the most CUTEST GIRL in all the land. Eh... wonderful, too. Uh... add beautiful as well. Mmm maybe... yes, yes add that too. Sexy as well, or as much as an underage chick can be, ey?

I swear this to be the truth under threat of perjury, fines and possible incarceration (along with forcible sodomy imprisonment would imply). So say I.

10-31-01 Boo!

Blood, the last vampire, it's that new digital anime that short on story but makes up for it on ass-kicking action. I haven't seen it, myself, but I did check out this music video...

Kung Fool!  ARCHIVE : STORY : CAST : SUPPORT : STUFF : FORUM : LINK

11-01-01 November! I only two months 'til Christmas and it's already World War III ! Yay!

Which forum warrior are you? I'm definitely a grunter and a lurker. Got it from this Sexy Losers Forum thread, by Mike Reed Illustrations.

11-02-01 Yeah, yeah, yeah...

Amphetamine , remember Ian, he updated! Give him a call.

Violent dances in martial arts films, an interesting article one martial arts in film, from Jumpcut, this prissy magazine on cinema I use to read in art school.

As if!, another one of them... webcomics. Cute and funny (in that otaku way).

11-05-01 Oh my god, what happened? Is the dream over! Has he (Hyung) finally burnt out! Is the the end!!! Find out this afternoon! (or night for EST)

pOnju, pOnju, pOnju, pOnju, pOnju, pOnju, pOnju! As you are my slaves, you will obey and check this out.

You think you've had a shitty, day? You're "scared" anthrax?

Formula119, he loves them lightning filters! Easy there, bucko. Remember with great power comes great responsibility.

Oh yeah, the FORUM's in maintenance, so use the old one.

11-07-01 Hey kids, you know it really is important to give thanks for what you have. It is so often the case that we take the every day miracles for granted. Like the new fucking cable modem. When it worked, I thought nothing of it. Why I used to check my mail while downloading whole chunks of (censored) and a shitload of (censored)!

But ever since that miserable piece of shit stopped working properly. I've realized how I've taken my online time for granted. Yes, I believe the days and nights spent staring at that FUCKING blinking light, hoping for the three green lights to stay lit, has taught me a valuable lesson:
I should have bought the optional dial-up modem when I got the G4.

Of course, since I've been updating without a regular schedule, it really doesn't matter I suppose.

Last Shot. Tired of amateur shit webcomics? Got three bucks burnig a hole in your pocket? It's the latest seris from Studio XD, about the only North American manga creators that don't suck complete ass. Locke, Mal, and Saka, are part of the group.

It's basicly a Color CG anime comic. Beautiful art. The story won't be accused of being too original though. Looks like a cross between Trigun and Battle Chasers. (Where is the funny, damn it!)

They even got a green haired chick named:

So if you dig it, go and buy a copy, they won't be arond for long.. With the market as shitty as it is, I doubt they'll make it to issue 10...

They also did something called The Nine Rings of the Wu Tang, it would've rocked so much it was a comedy! But alas, it looks totally douche, very douche.

Duncan's Kingdom part II. See the neat pic on the side, click it.

11-09-01 Everybody's busy! Everybody's busy!

Flash comic tomorrow, another sketch, then a huge Chink Man update. Should really finished that up. It went way too long for a simple goof...

Shifter, The Beast Within. No, not the new Transformer show, but a neato color webcomic. It's got guns 'n beast s, looks very exciting.

Annie, the Hard-core Gamer. This one sounds like a porno flick to me. It's one of them anime/game/cutsy/L33t thingys that infest the webcomic scene. (Al least it's done by a chick.)

11-10-01 Corrections! Corrections!

Disregard what I said yesterday. Unavoidable weekend stuff came up. Also the cable modem is working only about an hour a day. I just don't know which hour! So expect erratic schedule this week. (Isn't it always?)

Rocky weeks ahead, but the comic will go on.

Many people lazy people with nothing better to do emailed me and told me Annie was done by a guy. Puh-lease! Like, I so- care! What-ever! Fer sure!

11-11-01 Me stare at modem! Me get headache! Me no like! Me swear at modem! Me fail to observe Dharma! Me no enlightened! Me feel bad. Then me take dump! Me feel better! Me go sleep!

The Forum, my dears, is back. Do post, won't you?

2 guys little war book, a neat comic about a neat chat talkin' 'bout the neat war.

Cows with Guns. It's a neat song, no possibly the greatest song, ever!

11-12-01 If you are reading this, I am already dead. Okay, no. But if you're reading this, that means Keenspace auto updater worked and I'm still not connected. So I've finished with the Flash comic and just waiting to upload it. So there. =P

Zero, Online Comics. Yo, Lord Kancer, I confused you with pOnju and thought I plugged you already... And if you still want a keenspace, just make up a new account.

Pewfell, an online daily full color webcomic. Quite nicely done.

Tragic Lad Theatre, WOW! This comic doesn't suck!

11-15-01 Hiya, kids! Did we miss uncle Hyung? Did we? Did we? Yes we did! Yes we did!

I'm glad to report, the modem seems to be working normally, for now. I can only assume the problem occurred with in Carter Cable itself. It was getting a little scary... I almost had to go OUTSIDE! The sun would have burnt my tender pale skin like the undead. I just have some e-mail to send out, so... that's that.

One good thing was, it finally stopped me from compulsively checking my site stats. You know with webcomics, if the comic's there, it's there. People show up if you update, and they don't if you don't. What are you gonna do, right?

So I pledge, I shall continue to update, as much as I can! (Or until the modem burns out, or the money runs out, or I get a real job, or I get a really hot chick, or if it's a really beautiful day outside, with puffy clouds and junk, or until I finally grow tired of working all day for no money, or if my right hand gets chopped off it a bizarre accident involving the vacuum cleaner and a tub of Crisco, or... or... well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.)

Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It's been called the Chinese Iliad. One of THE classics of Asian literature. And you can read it right off the web! (Although why any one would, instead of getting a copy from the library, is beyond me...)

Stubble. What can I say, I like Stubble. It works for me,

11-16-01

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me
–Yes! – that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea,)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

Mashi Maro. Some excellent Flash 'toons! I love the backgrounds. Episode 4 is my favorite, but check out the anime inspired action scenes on episode 7, the newest and the most complex one (note the thematic use of certain scatological leitmotifs...) Kudos to Winky_wa_wa for pointing it out from my drunken bunny page. The official site (in

11-17-01 I'm chilling, 'kay. Don't bother none, don't start shit, and there won't be shit, al'right?

Star Wars II "Forbidden Love" trailer. It's at the apple site, so you won't have to register at starwars.com (Bullshit!). It doesn't look too bad... but not that good either. Hell, can't be worse then ep 1!
(NOTE: if you get a "forbidden" window. Just reload.)

Interview with a Vampire... The Manga! the Ann Rice novel is an actual yaoi manga in Japan. Figures...

11-20-01

"Show me how you do that trick
The one that makes me scream" she said
"The one that makes me laugh" she said
And threw her arms around my neck
"Show me how you do it and I promise you
I promise that I'll run away with you
I'll run away with you"

Download the punk cover by Goldfinger

I mean, really! These strips are taking way way too long... Way way way too long... This is really becoming like work. Ah well. And so it goes.

Dolomite, "Dolomite's my name, fucking up mutha fuckas is my game!!"

Bronx's Backyard. My goodness! A site for Asian Pop culture that's mostly made up of pictures of hot asian chicks! What will they think up next!!

11-21-01 Stuff, stuff, and stuff. More stuff.

The Writer's Almanac. It's a daily 5 minute literary radio show. Go get some culture, you ignoramuses!

Lex's Page. Really really nice art. Check out the Transformer fanart section!

11-22-01 Gobble gobble.

11-23-01 Am I angsty? I don't think I am... Hmm...

Radio Rookies. From Transom.org, an excellent radio documentary site, comes five teenagers describing their lives. They're funny, touching, and honest. Listen to them and reduce the daily bombardment of mass media bullshit with a little dose of reality and truth.

Shake Marilyn Monroe, another little gem from Transom. It's buried in the archives, but it's subtle, and nice. Very nice.

11-25-01 Argh...! Argh!! Argh!!! ARGH!!!

Small Stories, Hey there's updates on Duncan's Kingdom. Go!

Remember Nowhere Girl (the uber angsty girl in black), the artist, Justine Shaw, is interviewed on Talk About Comics. Have a listen.

Spike: Aw, man!, I just shot Marvin in the head!
Jet: Why the hell did you do that for?!

(From Big Big Truck)

11-26-01 Damn it, it's already Monday, I'm late!

11-27-01 Remember kids, the important thing is to realize that daddy loves you, daddy loves you all. No, mommy won't be coming back, but you'll see her on the weekends. Why? Because she is a stinking lying whor.. no, no baby, don't cry! Daddy didn't mean it! Daddy's sorry! Ok? Ok? No tears, no tears, c'mon, 'c,mon... good. Very good. Now, let's get ice cream!

Max Payne Kung Fu mod, Tjosan Hejsan sent me the link. See Max kick much ass the Chinese way.

The Demon in the Freezer. Can we say smallpox? Anthrax, ha! Wanna read some really scary shit? And this was written before 9-11, too. Got id from this Straight Dope question.

11-28-01 Hey kids! It's both recession and Christmas! You know what that means. Yes, it's finally time to cough up a buck or two for uncle Hyung!
I needed some cash for art supplies, among other things, and I thought, "Hey I've got those cheap bastards, I mean my WONDERFUL readers, surely they'll fork some over. Surely they would, right? Right?"

So after a while, my delusion wore off, then the giddiness left me and I felt somewhat back to normal. I'm feeling fine now. It's good to be sane again.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, Simply the funniest Cowboy Bebop parody gag. From Big Big Truck's awesomeCowboy Bebop page

Bite Me, a pretty unique looking webcomic. Has vampires and waitress in it.

11-30-01 Yo, yo ,yo! What up, "G"s?
Hey, three people donated yesterday! I feel so vindicated! I've peaked! It's over! It's over! I should quit now while I'm on top! It's all downhill from now!

Alien Dice. Webcomic. Has aliens and... dice?

Evesummer Eve . Has a great bunch of stuff. (It's a webcomic, btw)

5 dollar clarinet, make an actual working clarinet out of PVC pipes! (Sucking on PVC for a prolonged period will probably give you cancer, btw))

12-01-01 Shanna-nana, shanna-nana, hey hey, goodbye...!

When you search for "shit" on looksmart.com, this site shows up! Okay, It is at the bottom of the list, but I can't help feeling someone's trying to tell me something...

Comic works by Jesse Hamm, Very good stuff, but the guy has such a shitty web site. It's so very '98! Horrible background, stupid java applet, and loud as hell midi sounds. Not that I'm such a web guru or anything, but don't you want people to comeback?

Oh, and I wanna thank the generous people who've sent in donations. And I am working on some extra cheesy x-mas pics as incentives in a cold, calculated attempt to fleece the rest of you's outta your hard earned cash as well. God help us all.

12-03-01 It's my party and I'll cry if i want to, cry if i want to, cry if i want to, cry if i want to. You would cry too, if it happened to you!

A visit to Yagyu village. It's. like, an old place in Japan, you know, like, in the old days, like, with samurai and junk, you know? But it's, like, now, in the present, and, like, it's all preserved and stuff, and, like, it's full of history and stuff, and it's, like, cool and stuff, you know? It's like, from Blood_Soaked_Ronin, and stuff. And he got the link and stuff, and, like, it's like, you know?

Orisnal, some great Flash games, and beautiful art work. Very subtle. (Beau-tiful, Stephanie, Beau-tiful. Number Five, alive!) Play Swordsman, you kill Ninja!

12-06-01 Hey, dude, what the hell happened to this comic?! It use to kick so much ass! Where's the Fu in Kung Fool? There was fighting, people getting chopped up left and right... Look at it now! It's a goddamn fashion show! Jokes about make-up and buffet tables... Christ, dude, where's your balls, man! What happened, they fell off or what?!

The Lil World of Meekerz. One of them new fangled webcomics, again. Disgustingly cute.

Outsiders. Professionally executed full color sci-fi comic. Neat use of 3d for the backgrounds. Pretty new. Nicely done. Good stuff.

12-11-01 Hey, dude, what's up with you? I work hard, is it too damn much to ask you to do your's? Goddamn it, ever since that new prick of an IT tech took over I can't even get decent porn over this firewall! And that Johnson, that boot-linking supervisor of mine keeps on checking my cubicle every 15 minutes like I'm a stinking convict or something! My job sucks, but I do it! Is it too much to ask to update you site every once in a while so I can have a little laugh with my coffee before I hunch by back and ruin my health for one more day? Jesus Christ, you get a little popular and you think your the second coming or something...

Hey, Kovics, get why don't you do some real work for once? What's why you keep getting passed up fo promotion, you know.

Get your ninny head out of my cubicle! This is my space! This 3 cubic feet belongs to me! Stay in your own hell hole!

Ha! That's why your girlfriends keep dumping you, your too hostile.

Aw, that hurts, that really hurts... numbskull! Did your mother tell you that one, no wait she couldn't have said anything after I fucked her brains out last night!

Hey, man, you leave my mom out of this. Don't go there, man.

So what dude. What are you twelve years old? What, you can mention my girls and you stupid whore of a mother is off limits?

Hey shut up!

Make me! Your mamma's so fuckin' fat...

*CRASH*

Shut up! Nobody talks about my mother! Ahh!!

Get off me! Ow! Uh! Ok, you little Irish turd, you're gonna die!!

*CRASH* *SWING* *SLAM*

HEY! Stop it! What in the world is going on! Are you two fighting?

Wha... ah, Johnson! Ah, no. Of course not!

Yeah, uh... the wall fell over, you know, and I was just helping him get up...

Yeah, he was helping me...

Hmm... I'll talking to you both later. Everybody, the shows over! Get back to work! C'mon... move out people, move.

12-12-01 I just couldn't make the color comic today and I sayz to myself, "You dummy! That's why yous got them sketches!" So here we are...

Talibantastic! The funniest cartoon about the Taliban, written a long time ago, but funny as hell. From the great Bob the Angry Flower.

Tsunami Channel. I can't tell whether this is cute or just retarded, you tell me. I'm leaning towards severe mental damage, but they are Japanese. You can't easily tell with them...
(Sure I link to a lot of cutesy comics, but there mostly done by chicks!)

12-14-01 Yeah, yeah... I know, I know. We all do. We really do.

A Harry Dixon writes in looking for this webcomic:

"basically, i read a comic a while back but cannot remmeber what it was called.
it had three main characters one male, two female. one of the big parts of the plot was the male ending up in a mental asylum run by his family. there was also a crazy nurse in the plot. hmmm, alas this is all kinda vague.

the only other thing i can remember is that the front page of the webpage had a box which contained the characters from the strip dressed up differently which changed when you clicked on it."

Any body know what he's talking about?

And MLEmail838@aol.com writes in:

"i love kungfool! i think it's the best online comic ever. but why can't you just update more often? it's so frustrating having to wait two or three days for even just a new sketch. please get your act together."

I do thank you for your concern, MLEmail838, and I shall do my utmost to "get my act together." But, really, to MLEmail838 and all others out there, please include a subject line when you write. One does get apprehensive opening unknown mail without a proper name and blank (no subject) line. (Francois is, of course, exempt from this rule.)

Space Opera Comic. Jason Marin recommends me this webcomic, the main character has all this crap on his face like Zelgadis in advance stages of Smallpox, but it is in color so go and see for yourselves.

All Wishes. Hey, one more manga on Keenspace? Why the hell not! It's done quite well...

12-15-01 And the missing webcomic from yesterday is, Platinum Grit . I had this one in my link section for a while, but since they haven't updated for about as long... (Damn Shockwave! I hate that thing!) Matt Dreger, for being the first one to repot this, wins... nothing! (Dakao Do, Kerrick Andrew Lindsey, and djneko@nekogo.com also duely followed with the info.)

V.G. Cats. It's like... cats and video games... in color! I don't know... you go see.

George Bush is the Antichrist! I believe! I do! (Inspired by David Hasselhoff is the AntiChrist!)

12-15-01 (3:46 PM PST) Addendum: And Tylank.

12-06-01 Humina-humnia!

Tang's Weekly is funny. Go.

Julie Dillion's art tutorials moved to How to Draw Manga. Can't say much for the site, but her stuff is very good, take note, ya'll art-types.

12-17-01 Yabba -dabba-do. Inka-dinka-do? Mukka mukka loo.

Electric Orange A well drawn if a bit confusing web manga comic thingy.

Stoopid Pidgeon Yeah, this shit's pretty fucked up right here. Thank "Karmic Threat" for the link.

12-18-01 I was thinking the other day about how casually I say the F-word. It comes out naturally enough, but when I read it I do get a little jolt. Apparently I dish it out better then I dish in...
Meh... fuck it.

The Return of Hans A fan translation of Hayao Miazaki's short manga featuring pigs on Panzer tank. Very nice. Leave it to the Japanese to make a charming story about Nazi's fleeing Soviet vengeance...

They're Germans not Nazis.

Ha! Bet they were Zigheil-ing when the Krauts were wining! At least the Germans apologized for WW II, don't hear a peep from the Japs!

Dude, it's been, like, over for, like... a million years, dude. Chill.

Bastards! They should have hung "Emperor" Hirohito along with the rest of the war criminals! Exhume the little fucker and hang the corpse, I say!

That is so gross, like, I'm outta here, dude!

Traitor! Go! Get lost!

Ah, but I kid the Japs, really, I love the little bastards, I really do. Ri-ght. And speaking of which, since that special day Christians and kids with rich parents adore so much is so near, may I present the greatest contribution the Japanese have made to world culture besides Naruto Maki, Sailor Moon Christmas songs!

Yes, I hand selected these wondrous gems from the mp3 pile myself. I made my brother listen to them and the ungrateful bastard started whining like a little bitch, "Ah! What the hell is that? Stop that shit! It's hurting my ear!" He clearly doesn't appreciate the delightful squeals of the holiday classics as sung by 30 year old Japanese women imitating 14 year old cartoon characters. You MUST hear the cover of Wham's "Last Christmas" sung entirely in Engrish! (By Sailor Mars, I think) You'll swear you're back at the Chinese restaurant haggling over the bill with Mrs. Wong. It's... it's... too beautiful to describe. I love it. I really do. Really.

12-19-01 Don't cry for me Argentina...!I have never left you.
Although in silence, my soul cries to you... Now and forever!

Hey kids, don't worry about the comic, I have a big fight scene coming up and I didn't want to chop it in to daily slices...

Holy molly, did you read yesterday's entry, just below this one? I sound like such a hate monger! Scary! But really, it important for all of us to get along. Peace and love, ya'll. Peace and love...

It is my firm belief that all of us slant eyes, be we gook, jap, nip, dink, chink, or any other slopes should united together against the common foe: The Jew! Yes, we must stop the Zionist conspira... *BONK!*

Good Afternoon, I'm Wendle Turndash.

And I'm Sheila Bainsworth.

Mr. Kim, due to certain medical difficulties will no longer be posting his personal opinions. We wish him much luck on his recovery at the Institute. God speed. Now what have we for our readers today, Sheila?

Well Wendle, we have a Fractured Fairy Tale of sorts. A charming twist on a venerable classic, brought to us by a "Drooling Fan Girl." Thank you and hope your salivatic condition clears up.

And I believe Orsinal, a wonderfully done Flash game site, has been previously linked, but our editors felt one more mention was in order. It's is a lovely site and I myself have spent more time then I care to admit. Well done.

Thank you Sheila, And we conclude our post for today. This has been Wendle Turndash,

And Sheila Bainsworth.

12-20-01 Good Afternoon, I'm Wendle Turndash, and I'm Sheila Bainsworth.

Delays are expected due to an unexpected strike in the art department. Negotiations between management and Union representatives are ongoing with details to follow.

Kung Fool Inc. has hired temporarily help during these turbulent, yet sure to be, short lived times. Announcers have notified to use the term "temporary" or "guest" workers and not to use the pejorative and inflammatory label, "scab."

Experience the might, the majesty, the Malthusian delight of Too Much Coffee Man.
